Shawn Rayner - BWA President and CEO.
Shawn comes from a very rich family in the great state of Texas. His love for wrestling came at a very young age as he and his father, Zack, use to attend shows around the state of Texas when Shawn accompanied him on business trips for the family business. This was a great way for the two to spend time and bond over something they both loved. Shawn would spend all day while his father was in business meetings, what it would be like to be a wrestler and to be able to step in between the ring ropes and have the crowd cheer for him.

Every summer Shawn would hit the road with his father and they would search for a local show to go to. Sometimes they would get lucky and find a great show, but other times, the show was a flop and the wrestlers weren’t much of wrestlers. As Shawn started to get old, his father asked him to start sitting in on the meetings, and Shawn started to pick things up quick and showed a lot of promise to be a great leader for the Family business. Things were going great for Shawn and the family business and the money was rolling in, and things were just perfect.

One late January evening, the picture perfect life that the Rayner family had was smashed into a thousand tiny pieces. Shawn had just gotten home to the family ranch after a long day at the office only to get a phone call from his mother that there had been an accident that that his father and grandfather were in the hospital. With tears starting to build in his eyes, Shawn rushed to the hospital as quickly as he could and made it to see his father first. His injuries were very severe and Shawn’s mother had been at the bedside since the early afternoon just after the accident happened.

Zack grabbed his sons hand, but Shawn could that he had no strength. Shawn moved in closer to listen to his father for what he knew would be the last time. The tears started to stream down his face as his father told him that he was the last Rayner that that he wanted Shawn to take over the family business and to find something that made him happy as well. With all of Zack’s strength, he pushed himself up and gave his son a kiss on his forehead and laid back down to rest. An hour later he passed away, leaving Shawn in charge of the family. Shawn’s grandfather, Jerry, would end up passing away two days later while in a coma.

Shawn thought it best that he assume the leadership role of the family business, and he become the youngest man to ever run the oil company, but there was still something missing. A few years passed and Shawn is now twenty-six, and has been head of Rayner Oil Inc. for almost six years and found himself in New York City on a business trip. While waiting for a meeting Shawn was taking in some of the sights when a person caught his attention. At first Shawn couldn’t remember who he was, as it ate at him and he didn’t know why. Shawn went about his business and forgot about the man that he saw.

A few hours later, Rayner found himself leaving the building where he had his meeting only to find a flyer tapped to the lamp post that he didn’t see on the way in. It was for a wrestling show for a federation called BACW and they were going to have a live TV MA taping. It had been a few years since he had been to a show, so with a shrug of his shoulders, he decided to make his way to the arena.

A few minutes inside and the sights, the sounds, the excitement came rushing back to him and it reminded him when he was younger and he and his dad would go to the matches in Texas. By the time the main event rolled around, Shawn saw the man that he had seen earlier in the day and now remembered where he had seen him from. It was almost ten years ago, but it was when Shawn had just turned sixteen and a federation out of the swamps of Louisiana had started to tour Texas, a little federation at the time called the BWA.

The man that he saw was the BWA Champion at the time, “Crippler” Matt McClain, and McClain was just as good, if not better then he was when Shawn saw him ten years ago! After the match, Shawn managed to catch up to Matt McClain and made mention that he saw him almost ten years ago in Texas with the BWA. McClain got a smile as he remembered those times. And then what McClain said, would change Shawn forever and lead him down a path that made him happy.

“Someone ought to open that place again.”

With that one Phrase, Shawn took his father’s advice and decided that he was going to reopen the BWA under his control. After finding the former owner and buying all of the copy rights and equipment to run the company, Shawn has started to contact some of the old talent to offer them a place in his BWA as well as some newer talent from across the globe to compete in the Swamplands of the BWA!

Scott Logan - General Manager of Bayou Wrestling Association

Scott Logan started off his career as a wrestler, bouncing between independent promotions and never really managing to make much of a name for himself. For a time he teamed with one or both of his brothers to form tag teams and three man teams, but the family was riddled with strife and it wasn’t long before the Logan boy’s went their separate ways. Scott ended up down south, in a Florida promotion called CeWF, where he met up with John “The Gator” Cole, a veteran of the ring wars. With Cole’s help, Logan grew and matured as a wrestler, teaming with Cole to win the CeWF tag team titles and later going on with Cole to win the NeWA tag titles three times and be inducted into their hall of fame. During their time there they also came out of retirement to win the Crockett Cup.

Retirement, however, never did suit Scott well. Despite the fact that without a good tag team partner he was unable to properly pursue a wrestling career, he wanted to be involved in the business, and saw a chance to do that when he was offered controlling interest in the Massachusetts Wrestling League. His first efforts to run a company were fraught with difficulty, and after several out of control shows managed to have the promotion banned from returning to areas of the state, the League was forced to withdraw from the NeWA and close it’s doors. Scott left the business and headed for the hills with his wife and the newborn son whose paternity is still contested by both him and his brother Rick. For awhile he lived in obscurity, till Cole pulled him out of it with the proposition of a business venture, the BWA was going to go under, if someone didn’t step up and try and save it.

Faced with a chance at redemption, Scott took the chance and took over the BWA, and with Cole as the Vice-President, they restored it to it’s former glory, eventually left the NeWA and became the flagship promotion for the WfWA for years until finally, the day came when Logan was forced to close the doors of the promotion rather than sell it. Two years passed and yet the BWA was not forgotten, not by its former wrestlers and not by the man who still owned it. When the chance came to sell and to help in seeing it re-opened again, Logan once more jumped at the chance. Recovered from the injuries that had placed him in a wheelchair for nearly a year, he was happy for the chance to once more return to ringside and help the BWA regain it’s former glory alongside Shawn Rayner.
